"Heil dir, Sonne!"
This sculpture is based on Viking ships, but I'd say one meaning (among many) has to do with idealized forms (along the lines of Plato's Forms), and how a universal concept "travels" back and forth from an ideal to a concrete reality. The title is the first words that Brünnhilde sings when she is awakened by the hero in Wagner's opera Siegfried, and means "Hail to thee, Sun."
