Manastash [center], was inspired by the undulating mountains south of Ellensburg, Washington, USA. It's almost 8 feet (2.4m) tall! . I used acrylic paint on a plywood form constructed using a boatbuilding technique called "stitch and glue." On the left is Glacier Peak, which I painted from a sketch that I did from the top of Mount Dickerman last Summer. At the lower right are some of my Martian Volcanoes, and above them is an oil sketch for Manastash. |
